Sending Love

Today's gift card envelope floral card features the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms die set and Essentials Glimmer Sentiments hot foil plates.  This is beautiful die set full of different types of flowers and foliage, and I could not wait to use it.  I also love the new Glimmer sentiments which I used on the inside of the card. I created the card panel by cutting an A2 sized piece of gray cardstock.  I applied VersaMark ink to the Momenta Wood Grain clear stamp.  I stamped this onto the gray cardstock panel and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Such a beautiful stamp! Next, I used the We R Memory Keepers envelope punch board to create an envelope that would hold a gift card.  Using liquid glue, I adhered the envelope at a slight angle onto the card panel. I used the Be Bold Blooms die set and cut out several different flowers from scraps of textured cardstock.  I arranged the flowers onto the flap and front of the envelope.  I used bright pink hot foil to foil the sentiment &qu

Missing You

Today's layout was inspired by Vicki Boutin's Friday Night Live Youtube Video: Five Easy & Fun Watercolor Backgrounds .  I used her gesso, saran wrap, and watercolor technique to create the background of this page. You can see this technique here .   After allowing the layout to dry, I used a pallet knife to spread some Brea Reese silver glossy dimension modeling paste through a Vicki Boutin dot stencil to add silver dots to the page. While the glaze was drying, I used Versfine Onyx Black Ink to stamp the three sizes of flowers from Vicki Boutin's Color Study stamp set onto white cardstock.  I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the flowers. I layered several strips of paper from Vicki Boutin's Color Study paper pads and boxed card set.  I also layered two black and white striped journaling cards I had in my collection.  I fussy cut hearts and the camera from the papers in the collection and die cut sea shells from silver matte foil cardstock using a Momenta die

Prom

What do you get when you combine Sizzix, Vicki Boutin, and a little bit of Tim Holtz?  A beautiful mixed media layout.   Today's layout began with a coat of Vicki Boutin Gesso onto a piece of 12x12 white cardstock.  After the gesso dried, I applied a Vicki Boutin reddish-orange art crayon onto a piece of acetate.  I sprayed it with a little bit of water and used a stencil brush to apply the watercolor mixture through a Vicki Boutin floral stencil near three corners of the layout.  I then used a gray art crayon and applied it onto the acetate. I mixed some of Vicki Boutin's Iridescent Glaze into the art crayon using a palette knife.  I applied the silver tinted Iridescent Glaze through Vicki Boutin's dotted stencil to each of the four corners of the layout.  Finally, I mixed some black art crayon with water onto the acetate and used Tim Holt's splatter brush to make small black splatters onto the page. While the mixed media was drying, I gathered up some coordinating pap

Hello Spring 2022

I love making spring cards.  I get so excited to mix and match the many die sets I have accumulated throughout the year.  Today's cards feature die cut shapes from a variety of die sets.  I created both a vertical and horizontal card layout, changing out the focal image on each of the cards. I started by cutting one of the Sizzix Creative Background dies from the side of a white card panel.  I trimmed a little off each edge and layered it onto a pink cardstock panel.  I cut some grass from light green cardstock using the the grass die from the Spellbinders March 2021 Large Die of the Month Set.  Using the same die set, I cut the sentiment "Hello Spring" from lavender cardstock. You can't have a spring card without lots of flowers, so I scavenged through my scraps of paper to find colors that would coordinate well together.  I used multiple Sizzix Thinlits die sets to cut flowers, foliage, and branches from the scraps of colored cardstock.  I also used a Momenta dies s
