Thinking of You

I recently made a scrapbook layout using papers from the Jen Hadfield Home + Made paper collection.  I love the color combinations in this collection and did not have the heart to throw away the scraps of paper.  So I gathered up some Distress Oxide inks in coordinating colors and a couple of flower layering stamp sets from Hampton Art. I used Scattered Straw and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks for the bases of the flowers.  I stamped the flower details with Fossilized Amber and Abandoned Coral.  For the green leaves, I used Cracked Pistachio and added the details with Evergreen Bough.  I stamped the remaining foliage and small leaves using Weathered Wood.  I also used Weathered Wood to stamp the centers of the large pink flower and one of the smaller yellow flowers.  All stamped images were cut with my Brother ScanNCut. I adhered a piece of flower patterned paper to the bottom of the card base and a piece of green arrow paper to the top. I used a st...

Merch

Today's layout features Distress Oxide Paints and is featured around my kids and their sweatshirts from their favorite YouTubers.  They both received their sweatshirts in the mail this week and couldn't wait to wear them. I wanted to create a painted background.  I knew that Twisted Citron, Spun Sugar, and Black Soot Distress Oxide paints would match the color of their sweatshirts perfectly and provide the bold stripes that I wanted for my background.  I used white gesso to cover the back of a 12X12 heavy-weight white cardstock insert from a Heidi Swapp Storyline album page protector.  I used a wide paintbrush to brush a bold horizontal stripe of each of the paint colors.  I used Heidi Swapp's Gold Color Shine to add paint splatters to the painted background. For the title, I downloaded the Blue Bird font from dafont.com and I used my Cricut machine to cut the word MERCH.  I only used the outline of the title and backed each letter with papers that coordina...

Capture an Awesome Day

This layout was inspired by a Shimelle sketch and came together quickly using papers and embellishments from the Jen Hadfield Home + Made collection.   I cut 7" squares from three different patterned papers.  I glued the three photos across a piece of black and white polka dot paper.  I used a strip of wood-grained patterned paper on the top of the layout and a strip of green arrow patterned paper at the bottom of the layout. I adhered the three squares of paper diagonally across the middle of the layout and then glued the photos across the center.   I embellished three of the corners with ephemera from the Home + Made collection.   I used a small piece of foam to pop up the butterflies in order to add a little dimension to the page.  I finished the page by adding a title towards the bottom made from chipboard Thickers.   I love the beautiful color combinations in this layout and can't wait to use some of the other patterned papers ...
