Frenchie Halloween

Today’s interactive card features an image from the Simon Says Stamp Fall Frenchies stamp set and the Lawn Fawn Let’s Toast Pull Tab die set.  I stamped the witch image and colored it using alcohol markers.  I cut off the image of the dog from the pumpkin, making sure to leave its paws attached to the pumpkin.  I used the Lawn Fawn Let’s Toast die set to make the dog’s head pop out of the pumpkin. To create the scene, I cut some green grassy hillsides and adhered them to the bottom of the orange card panel.  I cut an oak tree using the Hello Bluebird Oak Tree die set and outlined the embossed lines on the tree using a brown marker.  I glued the tree on top of the grassy hillside.  I stamped and cut several leaves from the stamp set and colored them using a variety of alcohol markers.  The leaves were scattered amongst the scene. I cut the sentiment from yellow cardstock using Tim Holtz’s Alphanumeric Label dies and adhered them to the bottom of the car...

Easter Blessings

Here is an adorable Easter card I made for family and friends.  It features a variety of die cuts and a cute stamped bunny image.   I started by stamping the bunny image from the Hello Bluebird Meadow Bunnies stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I cut out the image using my Brother Scan N Cut.  I colored the image with alcohol markers and added some highlights with a white gel pen. I used the Spellbinders Oval Shadowbox Frame set to cut an oval from light blue and green cardstock.  I cut the bottom of the green cardstock oval and adhered it to the bottom of the light blue oval to make it look like grass and sky.  I created the oval frame by using the intricate oval die from the same die set to cut the frame out of an A2-sized pink cardstock panel.  I adhered this panel to a white card base.  I glued the light blue oval to the center of the oval frame. I used the Sizzix Rain Boot Planter Die set to cut the ador...

Welcome Fall

Happy Thanksgiving!  Today's fall card was totally inspired by Nichol Spohr.  She made a card that was so beautiful that I wanted to do my own version of it.  She used a couple of Hero Arts Dies that were out of stock (probably because everyone watched her video).   Since I couldn't order the die set, I designed the card in Cricut Design Space.  I took a combination of 2 different pumpkins so that I could have a decent looking pumpkin top as well as a large pumpkin.  I cut the pumpkin pieces on creme cardstock and shaded the pieces using alcohol markers.  I cut a variety of sunflowers, leaves, and foliage out of several colors of cardstock.  I also die cut flowers using my Big Shot.   Nichol used a wood plank stamp set.  I did not have the stamp set, but I did have a 3-D wood plank embossing folder.  I inked the embossing folder with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and embossed a light brown piece of cardstock.  The grain...

Happy Haunting

I can't quite get into the Christmas spirit, yet so I wanted to share the Halloween cards I made this year.  To create the card I started with a 4.25 by 5.5 panel cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used Inkadinkado masking paper to cut a circular mask and stuck that to my background panel. I ink blended around the circular mask using Distress Oxide inks in the colors Broken China, Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot. I kept the mask on and took the ink blended panel to my splatter box and splattered it with white acrylic paint and Perfect Pearls. After letting the panel dry, I removed the circular mask and I added a mixture of water and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink to add shadows to the Moon.  I used the Hello Bluebird Oak Tree Scene die cut to cut the trees, the ground, and the frame out of black cardstock. On the ground piece, I stamped the sentiment “Happy Haunting” from a Recollections 2020 Halloween stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink ...

Wishing You Brighter Days

Today's card is another unicorn card featuring the Waffle Flower Be a Unicorn die.  I absolutely love the large unicorn die.  It has such a sweet face and it is cut so that the unicorn is able to hold something in its hooves.  I used silver cardstock for the unicorn's horn and wings and pink cardstock for the cheeks and ears.  I glued a thin strip of black cardstock behind the eyes and nostrils.  The edges of the unicorn were inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I had a few scraps of pastel-colored cardstock from my previous unicorn card so for some of the unicorns, I used the different colors of cardstock for the unicorn's mane.   For the featured card, I used a card panel cut from a diagonal rainbow striped paper from a paper pad I picked up from Michaels last year called Stay Magical.  I had several clouds that already had sentiments embossed in black leftover from my previous unicorn card, so I decided to use them up on these cards as wel...

You Are My Rainbow On A Cloudy Day

I love anything that has rainbows and unicorns.  They take me back to my elementary school days and remind me of my Lisa Frank sticker collection.  So when I saw the Avery Elle Peek-A-Boo Fair stamp, I knew I just had to have it - not for the Ferris wheel and bumper car but for the cute peek-a-boo unicorn.  I couldn't wait to place the unicorn peeking out over a cloud with a rainbow in the background. For the card panel, I used Bristol smooth cardstock and stenciled layers of clouds using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil.  I used my Cricut to cut a white cloud and a pastel-colored rainbow.  I inked the edges of the cloud with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and glued the rainbow to the cloud card panel.  The cloud panel was glued to a black card base. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the unicorn and hooves. I used VersaMark Ink to stamp the sentiment and embossed it with black embossing powder.  The unicorn...
