Love to Create

Today's layout features Shilmelle's Sparkle City collection and Concord & 9th's Oh, Snap! stamp and die set.   I wanted to include a photo of myself in my scrapbooks since I am often under-represented in my layouts.  I chose a recent photo of myself taken in my crafty space and centered the layout around some of my favorite projects that I have recently completed. The inspiration for the layout came from Missy Whidden's "Love My Girl" scrapbook page.  I decided to use a patterned paper for the background of the layout rather than try to reproduce Missy's mixed media background.  The camera patterned paper from the Sparkle City collection was a perfect choice for the focus of this layout.   Using my Cricut machine, I cut doilies out of teal paper and purple glitter cardstock. I also cut flowers and foliage using the lavender paper and pink holographic dotted paper from the collection.  I staggered the doilies on the background paper and added t...

Keep Calm and Carry Wands

One of our favorite places to visit while in Myrtle Beach was Magicquest.  My family was very sad when it closed down.  I had put off scrapbooking these photos for a very long time because we had such great memories of this place and I could never find the right elements to pull this layout together.  The pandemic has allowed me a lot of time to scrapbook so I was determined to complete this layout before I had to head back to work. I knew that I did not have any magic embellishments so I went to Cricut Design Space and found a magic wand and some wonky stars which were cut from glitter cardstock.  I also found inspiration for the title and cut part of the letters from the Cricut and used Thickers for the rest ...

Capture an Awesome Day

This layout was inspired by a Shimelle sketch and came together quickly using papers and embellishments from the Jen Hadfield Home + Made collection.   I cut 7" squares from three different patterned papers.  I glued the three photos across a piece of black and white polka dot paper.  I used a strip of wood-grained patterned paper on the top of the layout and a strip of green arrow patterned paper at the bottom of the layout. I adhered the three squares of paper diagonally across the middle of the layout and then glued the photos across the center.   I embellished three of the corners with ephemera from the Home + Made collection.   I used a small piece of foam to pop up the butterflies in order to add a little dimension to the page.  I finished the page by adding a title towards the bottom made from chipboard Thickers.   I love the beautiful color combinations in this layout and can't wait to use some of the other patterned papers ...
