Wrap ALL My Arms Around You

I am bringing you a third card made from the Dare 2B Artzy Seas the Day stamp set.  I am using the octopus image to create a sweet card to give to someone who needs a little extra TLC. I started out by stamping the octopus on Bristol smooth cardstock. I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the image and then colored it with alcohol markers.  I used a white gel pen to make a few highlights on the octopus. For the background, I scribbled Picked Rasberry and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Crayons on a Bristol smooth cardstock panel.  I used a paintbrush dipped in water to blend out the colors.  After the panel was dry, I used purple tape to tape down a fractal diamond stencil on top of the panel.  I used a Stencil Pal to spread Vicki Boutin's Iridescent glaze over the panel. This allows the blue and pink from the card panel to show through while giving the card panel a beautiful shine.  I adhered the octopus to the card panel using liquid glue. There are so many great sentiments in this sta

Shellabrate!

I am bringing you another card made from the Dare 2B Artzy Seas the Day stamp set.  I just love this fun and whimsy stamp set and couldn't wait to make another card using one of the manatee images.   I started out by stamping one of the manatees along with some shells and the wrapped present on Bristol smooth cardstock. I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut out the images and then colored them with Copic markers. I wanted to create an underwater scene without having to ink blend.  I glued dark blue cardstock to a white card base.  For the sand, I used my scissors to hand-cut a small mound of sand out of kraft cardstock.  I splattered a mixture of water and Vintage Photo Distress Ink onto the kraft cardstock to make it look like sand.  I glued the sand to the bottom of the dark blue cardstock.   I recently purchased the Momenta Mermaid Scale Card Making Cutting Template.  I thought this would be perfect to turn upside down to make it look like waves.  I cut some light blue cardstock u

Embroidered Thank You Card

Today's embroidered thank you card features the Spellbinders Stitched Thanks April 2021 Small Die of the Month.  This card was a first for me.  It was my first time stitching on a card and my first time creating a slimline card. I cut the embroidered template from 100 lb cardstock so it would be sturdy enough to handle the embroidery stitches.  I followed the directions provided by Spellbinders to stitch the flowers and the leaves using a variety of pink, purple, and green embroidery floss.  I used the die to cut the word "Thanks" from gold foil cardstock.  I adhered the letters to the embroidered cardstock.  I glued a panel of gold foil cardstock to a slimline card base.  Using foam squares, I popped up the embroidered panel onto a panel of pink shimmer cardstock and then adhered this to a white cardstock panel.  This was glued to the gold foil card base.  I cut out four leaves from gold foil cardstock and glued two to each side of the embroidered panel. To add an extra

Too Long to Recover

Today's card features the Art Impressions Doggy Kisses Stamp Set.  I bought this stamp set a while ago but have never used it.  It seems like the need for "get well" cards has increased during the pandemic so I broke out the stamp set and a few paper scraps and started creating. I stamped the dachshund image and one of the sentiments from the stamp set on Bristol smooth cardstock and colored it using Copic markers.  I fussy cut around the image and the sentiment. I glued a panel of glitter striped cardstock to a black card base.  I used a nested border frame die to cut a black frame and adhered it to the glitter striped paper.  The dog and sentiment were glued to the frame using foam tape.  I doubled up two silk flowers and combined them using a pink glitter brad.  The flowers were attached to the frame using a mini Glue Dot. The one thing I love about Artistic Impressions stamp sets is that the images on the packaging are in color so I chose markers that were similar to

Honor Grad

Today's layout is in honor of my daughter and all that she has accomplished during her high school years.  I started by coating a piece of 12x12 white cardstock with white gesso.  I used the kissing technique to apply wild honey Distress Spray diagonally across the cardstock.  I splattered the layout with the wild honey Distress Ink and black soot Distress Paint.  Then, I applied purple glitter paste through a diamond stencil placed horizontally across the page.  I let the layout dry overnight. I used two different alphabet die sets to cut the title from black cardstock.  I cut the year from yellow cardstock and glued it to a black star.  I used craft foam to adhere the star underneath the title.  I matted the photo on black cardstock and glued this to a purple matte.  I distressed the edges of the purple photo matte and used craft foam to adhere the photo to the left of the title.  I used black ink to stamp a sentiment on yellow cardstock and placed this underneath the photo. From Me To You

Today's card combines ink blending, embossing, die-cutting, and foiling to create a beautiful spring card. Three colors of ink were blended on the smooth side of the Sizzix Tim Holtz Poinsettia 3-D Texture Fades embossing folder.  This allowed for the embossed portion of the card panel to remain white amongst a soft ink blended background. I die-cut a butterfly using a butterfly cutting template set from Momenta.  The holographic details of the butterfly were glued to the butterfly wings which were cut from vellum. The sentiment was foiled in Prism hot foil using the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System.  I cut a banner around the sentiment and adhered the butterfly and the sentiment to the card panel.  I trimmed the embossed card panel slightly on each side and attached it to a holographic cardstock panel.  This was glued to a white card base. This was a quick and easy card to make, but I love the soft colors and the overall elegance of the card. From Me To You Supplies: Accent Op
