I am obsessed with taking photos of the cherry blossoms. We have several trees in our neighborhood that are absolutely gorgeous when they are in full bloom. I took this photo last year while on a walk around our neighborhood. My son was playing with a friend and I told him to run and pose in front of the tree so I could take a picture. Later that year, I purchased a Crafter's companion stamp and die set that I knew would be perfect for this layout.
After several attempts, I realized that to get the best stamping of the blossoms, I needed to use my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform so I could line up the blossoms with the tree trunk. Using the platform also allowed me to mix a few colors of Distress Oxide Inks.
I knew that adding rhinestones to a page would be a little over the top for a layout featuring my son, but the gems really made the blossoms pop off the page and added the perfect finishing touch.
