Pumpkin Patch

My last Halloween card of the season was made using the Tim Holtz Colorize Pumpkin Patch die set along with the Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain. I started by blending Evergreen Bough, Seedless Preserves, and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Inks onto an A2-sized panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I sprayed the panel with Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain.  I love the beautiful shimmer that the Distress Mica Stain added to the ink blended panel. To create the moon, I cut a circle from creme cardstock and inked the edges of the circle using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I glued part of the moon in the upper left corner of the card panel and cut off the excess.  I slightly trimmed down the Bristol card panel before adhering it to a black cardstock base. I used textured scraps of paper from my stash to die cut the pumpkins and their stems.  After assembling the pumpkins, I used foam tape to adhere them to the card panel.  I die-cut three bats from multiple Tim Holtz die sets and gl

Pumpkin Picking

Today's fun Halloween card features the Tim Holtz Colorize Pumpkinhead Colorize die set and Distress Mica Stains. I started by spraying a water color panel with Hocus Pocus, Jack-O-Lantern, and Empty Tomb Halloween Distress Mica Stains.  For the moon, I die cut a circle out of water color paper. I ink smooshed Antique Linen and Weathered Wood Distress Oxide Inks onto a craft mat and sprayed them with water.  I pushed the circle into the inks and dabbed off the excess ink and water with a paper towel.  I inked the edges of the moon with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink.  I adhered the moon to the water color panel and added a black bat to the top of the moon. Next, I die cut several trees, bats, and fences out of black cardstock.  I also die cut a couple of fences from silver foil cardstock.  I adhered the trees to both sides of the card panel.  I slightly offset the silver foiled fence from the black fence and adhered the fence pieces to the bottom of the card.  I used a variety of ca

Bewitched

Today's Halloween card uses a variety of Tim Holtz Halloween products including the new Distress Mica Stains. I started by placing a circular mask onto a panel of watercolor paper.  I sprayed the panel with a variety of the Halloween Distress Mica Stains.  I took off the circular mask and sprayed the white area with Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain and water.  I dabbed off the excess with a paper towel and let the panel dry. I die cut the witch, cats, some bats, and the tattered banner out of black glittered cardstock.  I sprayed a small amount of water color paper with Flickering Candle Distress Mica Stain.  I used this paper to cut the word "BEWITCHED" and to cut small pieces to place behind the cats' eyes to make them glow. I folded in the edges of the tattered banner and adhered the word "BEWITCHED" to the center of the banner.  I cut out two fence pieces from black and silver foiled cardstock. I slightly offset the silver foiled fence from the blac

A Strange Thing Happened

Today's Halloween card combines embossing, die-cutting, Distress Mica Stains, and a little bit of silliness. I started by embossing a panel of cream cardstock with the Brickwork 3-D embossing folder.  I sprayed this panel with Jack-O-Lantern and Hocus Pocus Distress Mica Stains. I die cut the cauldron, the witch's bottom, and her hat from black cardstock.  The handle and hat buckle was die cut from silver foil cardstock.  I die cut the witch's legs from orange cardstock and cut small strips of purple cardstock to glue to the witch's stockings and around the brim of her hat.  I die cut some green clouds and layered them to look like cauldron bubbles.  I also die cut the witch's shoes from green cardstock.  The edges of the shoes and bubbles were inked with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink. I popped up the hat and the cauldron using foam tape.  I inverted the witch and placed her into the cauldron.  I stamped the sentiment onto vellum using StazOn Jet Black ink.  I ad

BEWARE

Today's Halloween card was inspired by @jenniferosnyder.  I saw her Halloween card containing a tombstone shaker element and I wanted to combine that idea with the mummy from Tim Holtz's Costume Party Colorize die set.   I adhered a piece of purple patterned paper to a black card panel.  The black panel was adhered to a white card base.  I used my Cricut machine to cut small, medium, and large-sized tombstones.  Each tombstone was inked with Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks.  The large tombstone was turned into a shaker element containing a combination of black bat sequence, a Halloween glitter mix, and black Diamond Dots.   The mummy was made from a variety of cream and tan cardstock.  I inked several of the pieces with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I had some issues assembling the head, so I cut part off the top and salvaged what I could without having to start over.  The "fix" actually added to the overall look since it gave his head a little more di

Ghosts and Goblins

Today's Halloween card features a variety of Tim Holtz products.  I recently purchased a set of Tim Holtz embossing glazes and couldn't wait to use them to create a brick background. To create the brick background, I started by spraying water on the front and back of a piece of watercolor paper.  I placed the paper inside the Tim Holtz Sizzix 3-D Brickwork Texture Fades embossing folder and ran it through my die-cut machine.  I swiped my VersaMark ink pad over the brick embossed background.  I sprinkled Fired Brick Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glaze in a few random places on the background panel.  I shook off the excess powder and repeated the process with Rusty Hinge and Tattered Rose embossing glazes.  I heat embossed the entire panel.   This created a beautiful shiny brick background, but I wanted it to have more of a distressed look.   I took a black art crayon and scribbled it across a piece of plastic.  I used my finger to transfer the art crayon to the brick panel.  I ru
