Easter Blessings

Here is an adorable Easter card I made for family and friends.  It features a variety of die cuts and a cute stamped bunny image.   I started by stamping the bunny image from the Hello Bluebird Meadow Bunnies stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock.  I cut out the image using my Brother Scan N Cut.  I colored the image with alcohol markers and added some highlights with a white gel pen. I used the Spellbinders Oval Shadowbox Frame set to cut an oval from light blue and green cardstock.  I cut the bottom of the green cardstock oval and adhered it to the bottom of the light blue oval to make it look like grass and sky.  I created the oval frame by using the intricate oval die from the same die set to cut the frame out of an A2-sized pink cardstock panel.  I adhered this panel to a white card base.  I glued the light blue oval to the center of the oval frame. I used the Sizzix Rain Boot Planter Die set to cut the adorable rain boot and flowers out of a variety

You Are Unique

Today's layout features the Dear Lizzy She's Magic paper collection.  I love how the pink and blue papers from the collection coordinate with the three selfies of my daughter.   I glued quarter-inch strips of the blue and pink patterned paper as well as the silver glitter paper to the left and right sides of a 12x12 piece of light pink paper.  I glued a 10x12 piece of heart paper to the center of the layout. I matte the photos on light pink paper and distressed the edges of the paper.  I inked the edges of the paper with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  I arranged the photos at a slight angle in three of the corners of the layout.   I used my Cricut machine to cut out a large camera and some hearts in various sizes.  I also die-cut four smaller cameras using the small camera die cut from the Lawn Fawn Shutter Card Add-On die set.  I glued the large camera near the bottom center of the layout.  I created three embellishment clusters using the die-cut hearts and cameras.  I popped up e

Hello Spring

Today's card features a little mixed media along with the Spellbinders Fancy Edged Ovals and 24 Carrot die sets.  The weather is still cold and gloomy so I felt the need to bring on spring. I started by ink smooshing three Distress Oxide inks onto a panel of watercolor cardstock.  I also added water to the inks and used a paintbrush to splatter each of the inks onto the panel.  I cut down the panel and adhered it to an A2-sized panel of rose gold foil cardstock. I used the smallest scalloped oval from the Spellbinders Fancy Edged Ovals dies set to cut out 3 ovals from rose gold foil cardstock.  I also used the smallest stitched oval to cut three ovals from watercolor cardstock.  I centered the stitched watercolor oval onto the scalloped oval and glued them in horizontal alignment across the center of the watercolor panel. I used the Spellbinders 24 Carrot die set to cut three bunnies from scraps of blue, pink, and purple cardstock.  I used scraps of cardstock to cut the rest of the

We Gather Together

Today's scrapbook layout was based on Day 4 of @christys_beautiful_life 30 Days of Sketches.  I love a layout based on a geometric design so I decided to give this sketch by  @allisondavis4sg  a try. I did not have a hexagonal die set so I took a hexagon die out of a Sizzix Impresslits embossing folder.  I grabbed a very old fall-themed paper pad and die-cut multiple hexagons from each of the patterned papers within the pad.  The original sketch had two smaller photos in the center of the page, but I decided to use just one photo of my family taken on Thanksgiving day.  I arranged the hexagons around the outside edges of the paper. To decorate some of the insides of the hexagons and to create a few embellishment clusters, I die-cut leaves, acorns, and some foliage from the more solid patterned papers in the collection.   I die cut the word "family" and placed it underneath the photo.  I used two tags from the paper pad and distressed the edges of them using a distresser

St. Paddy's Day

Today's St. Patrick's Day card features a variety of mixed media combined with several die cuts.  To create the background, I applied two shades of green alcohol inks along with a yellow alcohol pearl ink and a metal alloy ink to a Yupo card panel. Before the ink was completely dry, I pressed some gold sparkle foil onto the alcohol-inked panel.  This caused the foil to stick to the wet parts of the Yupo paper. To create the pot of gold, I die cut a black cauldron from black cardstock. I added gold gelato to the edges of the cauldron.  I applied a small amount of water to the gelato and used my finger to smooth out the pigment. This gave the sides of the cauldron a sparkle and shimmer.  I used VersaMark ink to stamp the sentiment in the center of the cauldron. I heat embossed with gold sparkle embossing powder. To create the coins, I used gold foil cardstock and a scalloped slimline rectangular frame die cut. After die-cutting the rectangular frame, I cut off some of the scallop
